Job Summary
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, this position plays a key part in keeping daily warehouse activities running smoothly while ensuring all stock and materials are delivered safely and on time across the South East and Midlands. The role involves a mix of warehouse work, driving and direct customer interaction.
Duties
Ensure delivery vehicles are correctly loaded with the appropriate stock and components
Carry out regular delivery routes to customers throughout the South East and Midlands
Offload stock and parts on arrival, including self-unloading when customers are not on site
Oversee and coordinate vehicle loading in preparation for next day deliveries
Support warehouse operations during peak periods, including picking, packing, and booking shipments using courier systems
Serve customers at the trade counter, handling enquiries, providing product guidance and arranging despatch
Receive inbound stock, checking deliveries and booking items into the system
Assist with stock management, warehouse organisation, door rotation and preparation for larger consignments
Act as key holder and take responsibility for warehouse operations when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable
Carry out general warehouse duties, including upkeep of the warehouse and routine van cleaning
Accurately update and manage records using Sage software
Skills
Full clean UK driving licence (up to 3 points acceptable)
Previous experience in a warehouse environment, including forklift operation
Confident driving across the South East region
Physically capable of manual handling and heavy lifting
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proactive and forward thinking approach
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
Reliable and trustworthy
Previous supervisory experience

Warehouse Operative/Van Driver

Please only apply for this role if you have previous van driving experience and are comfortable driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle on a daily basis.
Position Overview
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you’ll take charge of loading, unloading and transporting a range of materials to customers across the South East and Midlands. The role is hands on, varied and customer facing, with additional warehouse responsibilities outlined below.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all vehicles are loaded safely and accurately before departure.
Deliver products to a regular customer base throughout the South East and Midlands.
Unload all materials on arrival, often independently when customers are not available to assist. (Heavy items so need to be ok with lifting).
Support the warehouse team by helping load vehicles for the following day’s routes.
Carry out general warehouse tasks, including keeping vans clean and maintained.
Assist in the stores during busy periods: picking and packing orders, preparing items for dispatch and operating courier systems.
Serve on the trade counter by processing new orders, advising customers on product details and dispatching goods.
Manage stock effectively, including checking new deliveries of goods and spare parts, organising storage and replenishing stock.
Contribute to warehouse organisation through stock rotation, goods rotation, and preparation for larger incoming deliveries.
Use Sage software accurately and confidently.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Full UK driving licence (up to 3 points accepted).
Good knowledge of driving routes within the South East.
Physically capable, the role involves regular heavy lifting.
Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
Reliable, responsible and trustworthy.
